The holidays are upon us, which means it’s time for our 9th annual Chow Down Food Drive!
This charity event has been a “fan favorite” since its very first year, when we rolled out the Chuck Wagon and our amazing clients filled it (and our lobby) with more than 300 pounds of food and treats. In subsequent years, KCMC clients continued to humble us with their generosity, and we have been proud to collect more than 1 TON of food and treats (that’s 2000 pounds) in a single year on more than one occasion. What started out as a simple collection for a single shelter has grown to include as many as 4 shelters and/or rescues. KCMC clients are the BEST!
Whether you’re a regular donor or a first-timer, whether you bring a 12oz bag of treats or 3 50lb bags of food, we appreciate you including local shelter dogs on your shopping list. No donation is too small! Thank you for helping us make the Chow Down Food Drive an epic success year after year.
The Event: The Chow Down Food Drive is a KCMC Charity Event collecting food and treats (and sometimes the occasional toy and other other odds ‘n’ ends) for local shelters.
When you can donate: The Chuck Wagon arrives in our lobby on Black Friday (November 24th), and donations will be accepted through the end of the year.
What you can donate: Any size bag of Purina or Iams/Eukanuba dog food. It can be puppy, adult, or senior food. Any food within those brands is fine, but we won’t turn anything down! Canned food is also accepted, though the need for dry diets is larger. Crunchy and soft treats are welcomed; but, preferably no rawhides, as they are best consumed under supervision, which is difficult with a large number of dogs. Have some extra toys or random items? Bring them, too! If you have questions about a particular item, feel free to give us a call to ask.
