Carr Kelsey, DVM (Owner) – Dr. Kelsey has family roots in Collierville dating back to the 1800’s. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Auburn University, and is a 1999 graduate of Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He and his wife Fran are active members of Grace Evangelical Church with their children Carrington, Ainsley, and Knox. Dr. Kelsey’s canine family members are Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Shih Tzu littermates Cam and Lucy. His passions away from the clinic include spending time with his family, reading, and the outdoors.
Cam Hornsby, DVM – Dr. Hornsby grew up in midtown Memphis and attended White Station High School. He attended Colorado College and later earned his degree in molecular biology from The University of Memphis. He worked in cancer research for several years at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He attended the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville. Dr. Hornsby lives in Collierville with his wife Erin, their two children, Evie and Hayden, and his pack of spoiled dogs Manny, Buster, Nora, and Althea. When he is not at Kelsey Canine you will find him outdoors with his dogs, hiking, mountain biking or fishing.
Robin Bennett grew up in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, has a degree in Early Childhood Development, and also studied Business Management. She accepted the position of Practice Manager at Kelsey Canine in September of 2017, having spent considerable time in veterinary consulting and management. Robin is a certified obedience trainer, and she and husband David have owned a variety of businesses together over the years. They moved here from South Carolina and now make their home in Oakland. Robin and David have 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, and a Biewer Terrier they call Nala Jean.
Jamie Harmon, LVMT is a graduate of Mississippi State, and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2013. She and her husband Ben are both originally from this area, and moved back in 2015, shortly before Jamie accepted a position at Kelsey Canine. Jamie is currently our Lead Technician. In their spare time, she and Ben enjoy wakeboarding at the lake, and 4-wheeling. They have 2 dogs named Bailey (Dalmatian) and Gryndal (French Bulldog), and a cat named Oscar.
Jessica Hilsgen, LVMT attended Mississippi State University and accepted a technician position at Kelsey Canine after graduating from the university’s Veterinary Technology program in 2016. Jessica received her state technician license in August 2016. She has a Dachshund mix named Tucker and cat named Maru; new puppy Ripley joined the family in early 2017. In her time away from work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and doing anything outdoors, especially camping and canoeing.
Whitney Patterson, CVT is a Tennessee native who has been working in the veterinary field since 2009, while she was still in high school. She got her certification as a Veterinary Technician from Penn Foster College in 2012, and joined the Kelsey Canine team in 2017. Whitney has a special interest in geriatric veterinary medicine, and loves our senior patients! At home, she has 2 cats and a Rottweiler mix named Sutter. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys 4-wheeling, hunting, and fishing.
Harley Shillingburg earned a degree in Early Childhood Development before moving to Rossville, TN in 2015. Harley has been a part of the Kelsey Canine client services team as a receptionist since February 2018. She and her husband Shawn have 3 dogs, a Cane Corso named Tsunami, and mixed breed littermates Johnny Cash and Millie June. When she isn’t working, Harley likes to spend time at her family’s farm taking care of the animals.
Abril Bernal, LVMT is a 2012 graduate of the Mississippi State Veterinary Technology program, completing an internship with Kelsey Canine during that time. She accepted a position as a technician at Kelsey Canine in 2018. Abril shares her home with Oso, a mixed breed dog. In her spare time, Abril enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and the outdoors.
Jennifer Ward, LVMT has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2004. Although the veterinary profession as a whole is her heart, her favorite areas to practice are dentistry and orthopedics. She and her husband Carey are avid Mississippi State fans, and will celebrate 10 years of marriage in 2018. Together, they have one two-legged child (a son, Luke) and two four-legged children (dogs, Meat and HollyBug). If Jennifer is not working on a Saturday, you will find the whole family water skiing at Pickwick Lake.
Avian Sullivan moved to Hernando, Mississippi from Dallas, Texas along with her husband, Wesley, and their two children, Zoe and Jaxon. While her VS degree is in Psychology, her passion and work experience has almost solely been in veterinary medicine, as a Technician assistant.
Avian’s family is further completed by their cats, Marley and Hobbes, and their time together is spent outside grilling and working on their new home.
Jessica Terrell is from Byhalia, MS but Now lives in Memphis. She has always had a passion for animals. She and her fiance have 2 dogs- a Weimaraner named Duke and a Great Dane named Wrigley. They also have two cats, Theodore and Callie. When she is not working she loves to spend time with her family and friends.
