Carr Kelsey, DVM (Owner) – Dr. Kelsey has family roots in Collierville dating back to the 1800’s. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Auburn University, and is a 1999 graduate of Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He and his wife Fran are active members of Grace Evangelical Church with their children Carrington, Ainsley, and Knox. Dr. Kelsey’s canine family members are Charlie, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and Shih Tzu littermates Cam and Lucy. His passions away from the clinic include spending time with his family, reading, and the outdoors.
Robin Bennett grew up in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, has a degree in Early Childhood Development, and also studied Business Management. She accepted the position of Practice Manager at Kelsey Canine in September of 2017, having spent considerable time in veterinary consulting and management. Robin is a certified obedience trainer, and she and husband David have owned a variety of businesses together over the years. They moved here from South Carolina and now make their home in Oakland. Robin and David have 2 sons, 3 grandchildren, and a Biewer Terrier they call Nala Jean.
Jennifer Keirce is a 2002 graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis. She holds a B.A. in Political Science, but her passion for animals led to various animal-related jobs, such as: horseback riding instructor, zookeeper, and horse-drawn carriage driver. She has been a technician at Kelsey Canine since 2008, and has been managing the back office since 2014. Jennifer has been riding horses since age 11 and enjoys spoiling her puppy “nephew,” a Vizsla named Decker.
Jamie Harmon, LVMT is a graduate of Mississippi State, and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician since 2013. She and her husband Ben are both originally from this area, and moved back in 2015, shortly before Jamie accepted a position at Kelsey Canine. Jamie is currently our Lead Technician. In their spare time, she and Ben enjoy wakeboarding at the lake, and 4-wheeling. They have 2 dogs named Bailey (Dalmatian) and Gryndal (French Bulldog), and a cat named Oscar.
Sarah Richmond graduated in 2007 from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. She has been a technician at Kelsey Canine since 2011, and plans to complete a Bachelor’s in Nursing. When not at work, Sarah can be found spending time with her dogs Lucy (blue-tick Beagle), Sammy (English Springer Spaniel), and Bumble (Lab mix). She also enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
Audra Johnson, LVMT is a New York native with a BS in Veterinary Technology from Mercy College. She moved here from San Diego in 2014, after spending 8 years in veterinary specialty/emergency medicine, and joined our team in 2015. Audra and husband Todd have 2 daughters, Ellie and Faith. The Johnsons share their home with 3 dogs (Tonka- Staffordshire mix, Eva- Beagle, and Hazel- Beagle mix), 2 cats, 2 horses, and some chickens. They enjoy trail riding, fishing, target practice, and spending time together as a family.
Jessica Hilsgen, LVMT attended Mississippi State University and accepted a technician position at Kelsey Canine after graduating from the university’s Veterinary Technology program in 2016. Jessica received her state technician license in August 2016. She has a Dachshund mix named Tucker and cat named Maru; new puppy Ripley joined the family in early 2017. In her time away from work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and doing anything outdoors, especially camping and canoeing.
Jennifer Strafaci has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. After graduating, she spent 20 years working for FedEx in the IT department before deciding to change paths in order to spend more time with animals (especially dogs!). You may recognize her from her time working at Three Dog Bakery. Jenn joined the Kelsey Canine team as a receptionist in 2016 and also manages our social media. She and her husband Tony have 2 rescued dogs, Rebel and Roo. In their spare time, they love to travel, and take a yearly trip to hike in the Rocky Mountains.
Whitney Patterson, CVT is a Tennessee native who has been working in the veterinary field since 2009, while she was still in high school. She got her certification as a Veterinary Technician from Penn Foster College in 2012, and joined the Kelsey Canine team in 2017. Whitney has a special interest in geriatric veterinary medicine, and loves our senior patients! At home, she has 2 cats and a Rottweiler mix named Sutter. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and spending time with her goddaughter.
April Hawkins is a Nashville native who attended the Veterinary Technology program at U.T. Martin. She will receive her state license in late 2017. April accepted a technician position at Kelsey Canine after completing a 6 week internship with us. April is a self-confessed Pinterest junkie who enjoys painting, crafting, and DIY projects of every kind. She is also a certified yoga instructor, and enjoys staying active. April shares her home with Ella, a Rat Terrier.
